There are actually two peaks or mountains that form the center of skiing in Brian Head, Brian Head Peak, and Navajo Peak. Starting at an elevation of 9,600 feet and soaring to a height of 11,307 feet, the area offers spell binding vertical drops and an average of 425 inches of snow each year. There are 53 trails over 540 acres. It's a true snow sport lovers heaven. In town you'll find sleigh rides, snowmobile trails and ATV trails. 
Brian Head also offers spectacular warm weather sports, including mountain biking, disc golf, hiking and chair-lift viewing. There is also horseback riding and some wonderful fly fishing too. It's unclear exactly how Brian Head got its name. One story tells that the original Brian was a geologist; others insist the area was named after William Jennings Bryan, presidential candidate. It is clear, however that since the area is actually a headland of the Markagunt Plateau, it comes by the second half of its name quite naturally.
