Find Your Holiday Spirit, Christmas in the Country
![]() |
Nestled against the red hills and homes in Parowan, Utah (the seat of Iron County) is a beautiful little community just minutes from Brian Head Ski Resort. Rooted in the agriculture and mining industries, Parowan maintains a rich hometown atmosphere and a progressive attitude.
The late radio personality, Paul Harvey, once dubbed Parowan, Christmas Town USA. It’s no wonder as its residents celebrate the season with bright holiday lights and celebrations throughout each holiday season. The friendly atmosphere in our “Mother Town” is a constant and every season there is a splendid display of Mother Nature’s talents.
With a population of about 3,000, this quiet little community is anything but sleepy! Home to the Iron County Fair, parades throughout the year and a multitude of events and activities, it is actually a center of activity for the surrounding communities. First incorporated in 1851, Parowan city officials have held steadfast to the role of a mother community that gave birth to many towns that surround it as Mormon pioneers that settled there ventured throughout the valley in search of lucrative and sustaining industries like mining, ranching and farming.
Parowan’s quaint Main Street is a treat that will take you back in time. A simple lifestyle in a community surrounded by red hills, nature’s splendor, easy access to I-15 and a straight path to a top-notch resort – what more could you ask for? I’ll tell you what: Christmas. Christmas in the Country! That’s what you can expect from Iron County’s historic community and the people there who treasure tradition.
Nothing will get you ‘in the spirit’ like Christmas in the Country!
